Land Trust Accepting Reservations for Proctorsville Green Townhouses
Open House Every Saturday in January

Reservations for sales are being accepted. The townhouses are 90% complete and will be ready for occupancy in February 2008. Bruce Whitney, HomeOwnership Center Director says: “Interest in these fine homes has increased substantially during the last month. We are not expecting this opportunity to last long.”

Rockingham Area Community Land Trust will be hosting an Open House for Proctorsville Green townhouses every Saturday in January. Prospective buyers are welcome to view the townhouses between the hours of 10 AM and 12 PM. This is a great opportunity to see the many benefits of owning a townhouse condominium. A representative from the NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Of Southeastern Vermont will be available to answer questions concerning purchase options and to sign non-binding reservation agreements.

The Proctorsville Green town homes have many amenities including modern appliances, laundry area, ample closet space, and a private storage room.  The homes meet Energy Star energy-efficiency standards greatly reducing homeowner’s energy costs. Homeowners will be able to stroll down the street for coffee and a pastry, pick up the mail, or meet friends on the green. The vibrant village has a food market, library, elementary school, craft stores, and churches all within easy walking distance. Bus service provides transportation to the jobs and services in the Okemos Valley, Chester and Springfield.

The condominiums cost $150,000 to eligible households. RACLT is excited to be able to offer these homes at a price substantially below market value through our partnership with the Town of Cavendish, Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, and other agencies. In exchange for the grant buyers will share a portion of appreciation when they sell the home, keeping them affordable for future generations. Buyers will have access to below-market rate VHFA or USDA Rural Development mortgages. In addition, buyers may qualify for up to $10,000 in additional grants or 0% loans to help with closing or down-payment costs.

We will meet at the townhouses on Proctorsville Green. Please wear close-toed, sensible shoes. Come learn about this exciting opportunity. For questions please call Bruce Whitney at 885-3220 ext 222.
